The scenic beauty of Michigan and the water flowing gracefully down Chippewa River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There are campgrounds quite near     the river where you can camp. The average Michigan whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The starting point is not too far from Mount Pleasant, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Chippewa River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Mount Pleasant section is the only one.
