This stretch of Copper Creek in Gogebic County is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Copper Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the logging road to Presque     Isle stretch is the only one. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The beautiful Gogebic Range scenery is an added bonus. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Michigan are easier than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Briefly about the general area: There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Gogebic Range. It's always fine to have a look at Ogima Falls, and Abinodji Falls is a nice local attraction. Throughout the warm months at Copper Creek highs are typically in the 70's with night lows   in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's with temperatures at Copper Creek dipping down into the-10's through winter nights.
