The wonderful Marquette County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Michigan are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the     McClure Dam to Forestville Road section is one of them. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Dead River in Michigan is 6.9 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
