The beautiful scenery of Keweenaw County and the water flowing gracefully down Eagle River will make you feel great. This section of Eagle River is 2.3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV(V) section of whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. You can pitch a tent or park     your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Michigan you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. This is the only paddling section along Eagle River. Briefly about the general area: Eagle River is a good place of common precipitation; during the month of January you get the most snow around here while April is commonly the driest month. Eagle River Shoals is a fine spot to pop by close to Eagle River. Through the summer months at Eagle River highs are   regularly in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Eagle River.
