The Highway Camp Ground to Boney Falls Basin stretch of Escanaba River is 10 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
