This stretch of Falls River is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV+ section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations     you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The natural beauty of Baraga County and the water flowing gracefully down Falls River will make you feel great. Falls River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Mead Road to Lake Superior stretch is the only one. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
