Michigan whitewater - Huron River, Washtenaw County Washtenaw county, Delhi Mills section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     2.4 miles   The Delhi Mills section of Huron River is 2.4 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ann Arbor, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Michigan scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Michigan are easier than the national     norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There are no other sections to paddle along Huron River than the Delhi Mills section. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Through the warm days of summer here at Huron River, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 20's, and overnight lows at Huron River all through the wintertime ordinarily descend into the 10's. The yearly precipitation here at Huron River   is about average; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain while February is ordinarily the driest month.
