The nature scenery of Michigan and the cool fresh water have people coming here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. A good workout     and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. This section is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are no other stretches to paddle along Kalamazoo River than the Plainwell Swell stretch. At Kalamazoo River through the months of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's.
