The wonderful Ontonagon/Gogebic County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Little Carp River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Greenstone Falls trail to Lake Superior stretch of Little Carp River in Ontonagon/Gogebic County is 5.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the
river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Michigan tend to
be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The beauty of the Gogebic Range is a great plus for this river. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip.
