This stretch of Ontonagon River - West Branch in Michigan is 13.4 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The wild scenery of the Gogebic Range is great. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your
camping stuff too. The nature scenery of Ontonagon County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This river
system is full of great paddling stretches, the Norwich Road to Victoria Falls Dam stretch is just one of them. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more.
