The nature scenery of Michigan and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Michigan are easier than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The Hemlock River to Bates Amasa Road section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you     can camp. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Briefly about the general area: A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Paint River; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Hemlock Rapids is an inspiring location to check out during your stay; don't leave Paint River without first paying a visit   to Lower Hemlock Rapids. At Paint River throughout the months of summer highs are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's while Paint River nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's.
