The Highway 28 to Sturgeon River section of Perch River is 6.8 miles long and is a class II(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get |
some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Highway 28 to Sturgeon River section is one of them. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors

Creek Hunter Walking Trails is always a magnificent adventure, and Perch River is a location with many visitors from Watton. Baraga State Park is a great site to stop at. Perch River is a good site of normal rainfall. Throughout
the month of August you get the most rain around here; February is when it's the driest. Throughout the long summer days here at Perch River, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's with night lows in the 50's. High temperatures
during the winter are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Perch River tend to be in the 0's.
