This stretch of Peshekee River     in Baraga/Marquette County is 17.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. The natural beauty of Baraga/Marquette County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
