The Highway 28 to Wirtanen Road stretch of Planter Creek in Gogebic County is 1.1 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. No matter if you're whitewater rafting     or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The beauty of the Gogebic Range is a great plus for this river. There's camping available near Planter Creek. This is the only paddling section along Planter Creek. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
