The wonderful Michigan scenery and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. There's camping available near Presque Isle. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into     whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. This stretch of Presque Isle is 1.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV(V) section. The beautiful Gogebic Range scenery is an added bonus. The Yondota Falls to Copps Mine Road section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: At Presque Isle through the summer months highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's, and night lows at Presque Isle during the winter ordinarily fall into the-10's. It's always wonderful to stop at Yondota Falls. The   amount of rainfall that falls at Presque Isle is close to the national average; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February.
