The South Boundary Road to Lake Superior section of Presque Isle in Gogebic County is 1.1 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping     available near Presque Isle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The beautiful Gogebic Range scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable things to do in the Gogebic Range. It's always perfect to have a look at Manido Falls. Manabezho Falls is a nice local attraction, and going for a hike on the Rainbow Falls   Trail is always a pleasant adventure. At Presque Isle throughout the days of summer highs are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Presque Isle are in the-10's. From a rain point of view Presque Isle is a pretty common place; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is February.
