Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This section of Presque Isle is 1.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This stretch is very short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and     over. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The wild scenery of the Gogebic Range is great. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The nature scenery of Michigan and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Through the summertime months here at Presque Isle, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 10's while Presque Isle nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's. Manabezho   Falls is a charming place to check out while you're at Presque Isle, and hiking along the Rainbow Falls Trail is brilliant fun. All year is a fine time in the Gogebic Range if you fancy the outdoors. Manido Falls is a brilliant local attraction. The yearly rain here at Presque Isle is about average; all through the month of June you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
