The average Michigan whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Presque Isle in Michigan is 1.1 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American     Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a very short section so no need to bring snacks. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the South Boundary Road to Lake Superior section is just one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The river winds through the Gogebic Range and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: Presque Isle is a good site of typical rain; June is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. All year is a glorious time in the Gogebic Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Don't leave Presque Isle without first paying a visit to Manido Falls.   It's always great to take a look at Manabezho Falls, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Rainbow Falls Trail. Summer at Presque Isle comes with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Presque Isle.
