This section of Slate River in Michigan is 2.7 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV(V) section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this
state are very easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds
nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Silver Road to Skanee Road stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
