The wonderful Michigan scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Sturgeon River make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Sturgeon River is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting some good exercise and just being out on
the river for a while are great reasons to come. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Michigan are easier than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't
matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The Sturgeon Falls to road before Prickett Lk section is one of many paddling sections in this river system.
