The scenic beauty of Marquette County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a short drive from Marquette, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river,     but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Michigan is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere.
