This stretch of Big Fork in Koochiching County is 0.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The natural beauty of Minnesota and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. The average Minnesota whitewater
rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can
be paddled as well. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. This is an extremely short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Wisner Trail. During the months of summer highs here at Big Fork get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 10's with winter lows in the-20's overnight here
