This stretch of Big Fork in Koochiching County is 0.5 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Koochiching County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling
spots. The Big Falls section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
