  The beautiful scenery of Minnesota and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There's camping available near Big Sucker River. There are no other sections to paddle along Big Sucker River than the Cty 33 to Lake Superior section. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the
    rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. This stretch of Big Sucker River is 5.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV+(V)
section.

Briefly about the general area:
An average amount of rain falls at Big Sucker River; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Big Sucker River through the warm months are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 10's with temperatures at Big Sucker River dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights.
