Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The average Minnesota whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder     to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The natural beauty of Cook County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The CR45 to Cascade River State Park section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: A common amount of rain falls here at Cascade River; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is generally the driest month. A short spree to Cascade Falls is always worthwhile, and do take a hike on the North Shore State Trail. The warmest time of the year at Cascade River arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's.
