  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Minnesota are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This section of Cascade River in Minnesota is 3.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
    in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting
and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. The natural beauty of Minnesota and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far.

Cascade Falls is an inspiring spot to visit while here, and Cascade River State Park is a delightful site any time of year. Why not take a refreshing hike along the
 
North Shore State Trail, and this is a popular location for folks from Lutsen. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. You'll never forgive yourself if you donít go skiing at Lutsen while you're here. High temperatures at Cascade River during the warmest time of the year are in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for Cascade River tend to be in the-10's. From a rain point of view Cascade River is a reasonably normal place. Of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
