The Cascades of Cascade stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This section of Cascade River is 0.5 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit     away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The nature scenery of Minnesota and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This stretch is very short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Briefly about the general area: Cascade River gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is mostly the driest month. Summertime highs at Cascade River typically tend to be in the 70's; the nighttime is a tad chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's   overnight here at Cascade River. Don't leave Cascade River without first paying a visit to Cascade Falls, and going for a hike along the North Shore State Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
