If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Minnesota you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Cascades of Cascade stretch of Cascade River in Minnesota is 0.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. This is a very short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit     to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Cascade Falls is an inspiring place to check out while you're here; you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the North Shore State Trail. Cascade River gets a common amount of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. During the warmest time of the year at Cascade River highs are mostly in the 70's. For the period   of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for Cascade River.
