  This stretch of Cross River in Minnesota is 8.5 miles long and is a class II-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Cook County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is the only paddling stretch along Cross River. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often
    tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. A good workout and spending some
quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.

Briefly about the general area:
Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Cross River while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 10's while Cross River overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's.
Cross River gets a common amount of annual rainfall; most of the rain falls during June; the driest month is February.
