CLASS I-II     5 miles
  This stretch of Kettle River in Pine County is 5 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Minnesota is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Minnesota and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Getting some
    good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The campgrounds here at Kettle River are pretty good. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be
paddled as well. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here.

Briefly about the general area:
During the summertime months highs here at Kettle River reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Kettle River. There's a forest here at Kettle River called Chengwatana State Forest.
The annual rain here at Kettle River is about average; all through June this area sees the most rain while February is typically the driest month.
