This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Cty 102 to Lake Superior section of Knife River in Minnesota is 5.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III(IV) section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding,     so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Cty 102 to Lake Superior section is the only paddling section along Knife River. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the warm days of summer here at Knife River, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 10's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Knife River dip into the-10's. Knife River gets a typical amount of annual rain; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month.
