  This section of Lower Tamarack River in Pine County is 10.2 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. The natural beauty
    of Pine County and the water flowing gracefully down Lower Tamarack River will make you feel great. Lower Tamarack River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Highway 25 to Highway 48/77 stretch is the only one. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you
don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
There's a perfect forest close to Lower Tamarack River called Saint Croix State Forest, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Markville Snowmobile Trail. Summer at Lower Tamarack River comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are usually in the 10's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Lower Tamarack River.
