The Partridge Falls to Poplar Creek Road stretch of Pigeon River is 8.5 miles long and is according     to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. There's camping available near Pigeon River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The Partridge Falls to Poplar Creek Road section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The wonderful Minnesota scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Summertime   highs at Pigeon River mostly tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
