The starting location is a reasonable drive from St. Cloud, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Minnesota and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Minnesota is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This stretch is mid length,     it's good length for a morning trip. There are no other sections to paddle along Sauk River than the Highway of Park to Mississippi River section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here.
