Aitkin/Kanabec
county,
Township Road to Mora section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS I-II 28 miles
The scenic beauty of Aitkin/Kanabec County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Snake River in Minnesota is 28 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. The average Minnesota whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. You can pitch a tent
or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whether you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here.
