Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Minnesota tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Cross Lake to confluence with St. Croix River. stretch of Snake River in Pine County is 12 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the warm months highs here at Snake River get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the duration of the   wintertime highs are typically in the 10's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Snake River temperatures sink to the-10's. An average amount of rainfall falls at Snake River; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
