The scenic beauty of Chisago County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at St. Croix River are pretty good. This is a very short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature     have a lot of people coming here. The Taylor's Falls stretch is the only paddling stretch along St. Croix River. Briefly about the general area: From a rain point of view St. Croix River is a reasonably normal location; throughout June this area sees the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. For the duration of the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at St. Croix River. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's.
