The Vermilion Dam to Twomile Creek stretch of Vermilion River in Minnesota is 5.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving.     There's camping available near Vermilion River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people.
