This stretch of Vermilion River in Minnesota is 1.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections here     are not safe for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Eightmile Creek to Cty 24 section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: During the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 70's at Vermilion River. All through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 10's; during the dark hours in the winter at Vermilion River   temperatures fall to the-20's. Vermilion River gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February.
