This stretch of Vermilion River in Minnesota is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. The FS491 to CR24 stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Getting some     good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Minnesota are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
