The wonderful Missouri scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is the only paddling section along Carver Creek. Whitewater paddling here in the Ozarks is a great experience. If you're coming from Farmington it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further     down. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is an extremely short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Missouri tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Carver Creek a wet location; the month with most of the rain is March, and January is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year brings   highs in the 80's to Carver Creek. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Carver Creek. Go for a hike on the Taum Sauk Trail.
