The starting point is not too far from Farmington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Iron County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. This stretch is short so it's not like
you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There's camping available near Crane Pond Creek. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if
you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. This section of Crane Pond Creek in Missouri is 2.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. There are no other stretches to paddle along Crane Pond Creek than the Crane Lake to County Road 134 stretch. The beautiful Ozarks scenery is an added bonus.
