The natural beauty of Missouri and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make
you glad you came. The Highway 72 to St. Francis River stretch of Little St. Francis River in Missouri is 15 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I section of whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number
of good rivers. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. When you're paddling down a Ozarks river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Missouri are easier than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels
fill up quick. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Highway 72 to St. Francis River section is one of them.
Briefly about the general area: Take a hike on the Silver Mine Trail. From a rainfall point of view Little St. Francis River is a pretty
common site; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the summer months at Little St. Francis River temperatures are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Little St. Francis River are in the 20's.
