The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Missouri are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. for a real wilderness adventure. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise
| and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Meramec River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Short Bend to Highway 231 stretch is the only one. Whitewater paddling here in the Ozarks is a great experience.
