You don't mention many Missouri rivers like the upper Jack's Fork, a level I/II, the North Fork of the White River, Bryant's Creek, and the Niangua, among others. Just thought you should know! The Maramec Spring to Meramec Caverns stretch of Meramec River in Phelps Crawford Franklin County is 67 miles long and it is classified as a class I section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if
you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. When you're paddling down a Ozarks river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect
for a real wilderness adventure. The beautiful scenery of Missouri and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Maramec Spring to Meramec Caverns stretch is the only paddling stretch along Meramec River. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds
nearby.
