Says cjrobin This section of Meramec River is 67 miles long and is a class I section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Missouri and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the     trip here worthwhile. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wild scenery of the Ozarks is great. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. There are no other stretches to paddle along Meramec River than the Maramec Spring to Meramec Caverns stretch. Briefly   about the general area: Summertime highs at Meramec River mostly tend to be in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Meramec River. Meramec River gets a typical amount of precipitation; through the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is January.
