This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The scenic beauty of Missouri and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile.

A great place to visit next to Pickle Creek is Big Spring Hollow, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the John
J Audubon Trail. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Pickle Creek get into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Pickle Creek tend to be in the 10's.
