You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Shoal Creek is a wet place that gets lots of precipitation; September is when you get the most rain here; January is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Shoal Creek through the summer months are in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Shoal Creek.
