The Highway CC to Current River stretch of Sinking Creek in Missouri is 6.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Shannon County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The campgrounds here at Sinking Creek are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people
coming here. The Highway CC to Current River section is the only paddling section along Sinking Creek.

rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. Through the summertime at Sinking Creek highs are mostly in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Sinking Creek temperatures plunge to the 20's.
