The put-in location is a short drive from Farmington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The beautiful scenery of Missouri and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. A good workout
and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The Highway H to Highway 72 stretch of St. Francis River in St. Francois Madison County is 10.7 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby,
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The beautiful Ozarks scenery is an added bonus. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

you can take a hike along the Silver Mine Trail. An average amount of precipitation falls at St. Francis River; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. For the period of the summertime at St. Francis River
temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at St. Francis River. And if that's not enough there's loads more amusing stuff to do in the Ozarks.
