Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Missouri are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The Silver Mines Recreation Area to Highway 67 stretch of St. Francis River is 55.4 miles long and it is classified as a class I section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Madison Wayne County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. A good workout and just
hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Silver Mines Recreation Area to Highway 67 section is just one of them. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Farmington, if you're not familiar
with the area there's a road map further down the page. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Ozarks scenery is wonderful. The campgrounds here at St. Francis River are pretty good.
