This stretch of Stouts Creek in Iron County is 1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III section. The put-in is not too far from Farmington, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The wonderful Missouri scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Stouts Creek will make you feel great. This stretch is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The sections for whitewater
rafting and kayaking here in Missouri are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The Highway M west of Ironton stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Whether
you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Whitewater paddling here in the Ozarks is a great experience. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

January meanwhile is the driest month. A glorious place to stop at near Stouts Creek is Wallace Hollow, and the Taum Sauk Trail offers hiking at its best. Yeah, come up here to the Ozarks for a good time. All through the warmest time of the year at Stouts Creek highs are commonly
in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Stouts Creek.
