Highway M west of Ironton section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III 1 miles
The nature scenery of Missouri and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The Highway M west of Ironton section of Stouts Creek is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. The beauty of the Ozarks is a great plus for this river. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Farmington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back
for more. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This section is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
