This stretch of Bear Creek in Montana is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Montana scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Montana tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. There are no other sections to paddle along Bear Creek than the Trailside section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay
the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the Lewis Range is a great experience. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. Some people prefer
whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came.
Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike on the Edna Creek Trail is always a great adventure, and Snowslide Gulch is another magnificent spot to have a look at close by.
