The Trailside stretch of Bear Creek in -blank- County is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This
is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The river winds through the Lewis Range and you get great scenery. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots
of people. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. The nature scenery of -blank- County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are no other stretches to paddle along Bear Creek than the Trailside stretch.
Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike along the Edna Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and nearby you hit upon Snowslide Gulch
which is a great site to stop by. An average amount of precipitation falls at Bear Creek; December is when you get the most snow here; the driest month is April. That right there is a lot of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Lewis Range has it all. While you're here
at Bear Creek you can take a hike along the Dirtyface-Logan Creek Trail. Summertime highs at Bear Creek commonly tend to be in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Bear Creek descend into the 10's.
