If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Beaverhead is in close proximity to Long Gulch which is absolutely worth checking out. During the warm days of summer highs here at Beaverhead reach the 80's while overnight lows are commonly in the 40's.
