The wonderful Missoula County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Montana are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Blackfoot River in Missoula County is 40 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. There are a
few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There are nice comfortable
hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good rivers for that around here.
