  The Scotty Brown Bridge to Johnsrud Park section of Blackfoot River is 32 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance
    because these hotels fill up quick. Now this is a pretty long section, so better bring your camping gear along. The beautiful scenery of Missoula County and the cool fresh water beats anything. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Scotty Brown Bridge
to Johnsrud Park section is one of them. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Montana are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners.

Briefly about the general area:
Blackfoot River is typically a pretty dehydrated location; all through the month of January you get the most snow around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the months of summer at Blackfoot River temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets
 
in temperatures fall down into the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Blackfoot River plunge into the 0's.
