Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Scotty Brown Bridge to Johnsrud Park section is one of them. There's camping available near Blackfoot River. area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so it looks like you will be camping out.

It is very dehydrated here at Blackfoot River usually; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. A wonderful place in the neighborhood of Blackfoot River is Jamison Gulch.
