  The put-in location is a short drive from Missoula, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Montana and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. This section of Blackfoot River in Montana is 32 miles long and is a class II-III section
    of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if
you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Scotty Brown Bridge to Johnsrud Park section is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Montana are easier than the national norm, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Getting some good  
exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.

Briefly about the general area:
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Morrell Falls National Recreation Trail, and Jamison Gulch is another splendid place to stop by nearby. You without doubt should stop at Placid Lake State Park if you're here at Blackfoot River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Blackfoot River; Pyramid Pass Trail is a wonderful local trail. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. Salmon Lake State Park is a good place to explore on a gorgeous day.
